Hello

I'm Eugene.

With background in mechanical engineering and computer programming, I began my IT career at a major Canadian bank in the early 2000s as a co-op. I started as a mainframe (Host) developer, working on payment systems applications — building enhancements and performing testing. Two years later, I transferred to the Customer systems team, where I stayed until 2006, when I joined a team building the ETL layer to populate the bank's warehouses and data marts.

There, I had the opportunity to work with Ab Initio (by former Thinking Machines) — a highly advanced ETL platform at the time, and arguably still today. I took on significant, high-profile projects, including the Banknorth and Commerce Bancorp M&A initiatives, along with many technically demanding projects in AML and securities trading where I raised my skill in DML and Ab Initio scripting.

I later moved to another bank, continuing to work with Ab Initio before transitioning to SAS, where I focused on AML systems and analytics across both banking and retail. I then expanded into cloud technologies (GCP), working for HSBC and ATB on their migration to Google Cloud, followed by analytics and reporting across open-source and legacy systems.

Today I continue to evolve and sharpen my skills in agentic development for cloud-based data processing, analytical systems, and mobile and desktop applications.
